The end. For real.

June 20, 2011

On President's Day Weekend, I went to the beach...and I lost one of my best friends.

I'm not publishing the story of what happened to my relationship with my ex-boyfriend and close friend, Philly Matt, but I have written about it. If you're interested in having me send you what I wrote, please comment, email me at citygirlblogs (at) gmail (dot) com, or send me your email via Tweet or text message. I'm being very restrictive about who I send this post to, though, so please don't take it personally if I don't respond. Thanks in advance for your understanding!

I'll be back with published posts tomorrow. xoxo

I am dying to hear how things finished with Philly Matt as I thought you guys would end up together . . . losing a friend is never easy and I know from personal experience that it never leaves you. Sending you hugs and hair growing vibes ;-)

I also thought he had died and was so worried for you! Thank goodness that isn't the case. I'd love to read what you wrote about it, but I'm an anonymous blog reader, too, so I totally understand if you don't want to send it out to random people. I'm so sorry you had to lose a friend. I know that's always tough. :(

Just like others.. that 1st sentence made me think you LOST lost him.. as in he is no longer breathing. Glad that isn't the case, but I'm still sorry you lost the friendship. I am in the same situation right now with my best friend. He has decided to adhere to his current wife's demands that we can no longer be friends.. no contact.. nothing. Which makes it really hard since I'm the Godmother of his oldest son he had with his 1st wife.
Again, sorry to hear about you and Philly Matt.. but maybe after some time you guys can work things through.

I also took "lost" the wrong way and had a sinking feeling in my stomach. In any event, I am still very intrested in hearing the story if you are willing to share. Unfortunately I think we all know the feeling of losing a friendship and it is never easy.

Glad to have you as a friend as always, xo

Whoa. This made me feel like I just read an obituary...I'm sorry you loss Philly Matt. He's been one of your strongest sources of strength and happiness, so I can sense your heartache in your short post. I'd like to ask permission to read your post about what happened--mostly so I can look for any signs that down the road you may be able to cross paths with one of your oldest and dearest friends again. :-)

Thank you as always for your kindness and compassion! Out of sight is never out of mind where you're concerned, although I hope that we have some time together soon!

I realized that "lost" has different meanings so before I send you the post, I want to clarify that Matt is alive and well. xoxo

No, I didn't think you lost Philly Matt that way, I just felt your sadness in the loss of your friendship.

Which is why I'll be scouring your post to see if there is any sign, even a slight hint, that your paths may cross again one day. :-)

Does "lost"mean what I think it means? That makes me sad. I know he was very important to you. I'd like to read your post about him.

My apologies for not thinking about the different meanings of the word, "lost." Philly Matt is okay in that regard :). xoxo

Ouch. Losing a close friendship can be so hard but nearly always means personal growth and development. I'm interested to read about the ending but I don't know you personally, I'm simply a blog reader. And P.S.--President's day weekend? I thought we (readers) were nearer to real time than February?

Thanks for your thoughtful comment, Bloom! I agree, and I'll be sending you the post.

I've been a perfect four months behind since before chemo started. It wasn't my goal to write with such a delay, but that seems to be where we are.

Hugs
