Readers' Choice #17 - Be my psychic friends!

November 7, 2011

In May, I visited an intuitive for a reading. There are several things that I loved about her:

1. She doesn’t advertise and only does readings based on referrals;

2. She asks for your photo first. If she doesn’t see or sense anything, she won’t do a reading. She doesn’t want to waste anyone’s time or money;

3. She charges a nominal amount and gives half to charity;

4. She won’t do anymore than two readings on a person in a year; and

5. She was spot on with a few tidbits. (How could she have known that I had a small crack on the back side of a tooth in the back right of my mouth? Or, how could she have guessed that I'm allergic to the Z-pak, when it's 99.9% tolerated?)

I haven’t written about what she had said to me because I wasn’t sure if I would jinx myself. (Are there superstitions when it comes to a reading, or is that like a double negative?)

I want to ask you all a question related to a guy I’ve written a bit about on this blog, but I feel like I shouldn’t ask you to vote without telling you what the intuitive said.

So, I’ll let you make the call.

How do I treat the information I received from the intuitive during my reading?

1. I shouldn't write about it. That’s like telling someone my wish before I blow out the candles on my birthday cake;

2. Only tell what’s necessary to fill my readers in on my latest dating adventures; or

3. Tell all. I’ve written enough on this blog as it is. Whatever is going to happen in the future will happen!

You must comment on the blog for your vote to count.

PS Interested in some beautiful pieces of lingerie and swimsuits? Check out the charity auction of my friend, Dina Al-Sabah. All pieces were worn only once in her photo shoots, and all proceeds go to a breast cancer charity! The highest bidder (on one or a combination of items) will also receive a box of high-end costume jewelry worn in the shoots and a photo shoot with Isaac Hinds of Lift Studios. The auction ends on Thursday.

I'd say #2. You can update us on the general idea of what's going on. If you have the inkling not to talk about it maybe it's best just to let it be - some things are OK to leave private. Besides, what's meant to be will be.

Thanks for always being so thoughtful, Simone! I don't feel like anything she said is "too private," but I do wonder if I could jinx certain things from coming to pass. I like the fact that #2 was chosen so I can just give you all the basics as needed. xoxo

I am going with a combo again, #2 with a side of #3. I would love to hear all, but if there are things a little too personal for you , then I would reapect that staying private!

Most readers chose #2. I'll tell as much as is related to my dating life, though. Thanks Tyler :)!

3. Tell all. I’ve written enough on this blog as it is. Whatever is going to happen in the future will happen!

I feel like this is a journey we are taking with you; imagine 6 months from how one of us says 'OMG! The psychic called it!'

Your comment made me smile, Gina! Hopefully, some of what she has said will come true! I'll share as much as is related to my dating life :).

#3, but that's for selfish reasons, because I'm curious. I also think that if she's legit, she's legit. You aren't going to change the legitimacy of what she said or "jinx it" by sharing.

Also, any chance that you'd share this intuitive's contact information? I've always wanted an experience with a competent one.

I checked with the intuitive, and she said that it's fine to give her info to my readers. I only have your hotmail email saved, though. If you don't check that account regularly, email me with your gmail account at citygirlblogs (at) gmail. Thanks Margot :)!

I think you should share whatever you feel you want to, and keep the rest to yourself...would that be #1?!

I vote for #2 and then if it comes true you can tell us if her prediction came true.

1) I think you should wait until after her reading comes to fruition and 2) would you please email me with her info? I'd love a referral!

Info emailed! And, I'll be selective about what I share. Thanks, FreckledK!

KIndof #3 - telling won't jinx it but if there are things that feel too personal then keep them private.

Thanks Liz! I guess at this point, I feel like very little is too personal. (That can be good and bad.) I'll share what I need to about my dating life.

I agree. I don't believe in jinxes, but don't share if you feel it is too much. So, #3 (cuz I really want to know) but also kinda #2.

Thanks Teacher Girl! I've been wondering whether jinxes apply since some people think you tempt fate by even talking to an intuitive.

#2! I'm dying to hear, I but respect that you might want to keep some things to yourself.

I say #2 or thereabouts. I've gotten things from readings that I felt aren't meant to be shared.
